I hope to gain a great deal of practical information about Website design and development from my CGS2821 class this semester, obviously. Information regarding how to use the tools the Internet and Networks provide you is in my opinion among the most important you can learn to increase your attractiveness to potential employers. Having a base set of skills and knowledge in Web design has been one of my goals for many years, but I have not found an efficient medium for learning all of the core facets of the field until I discovered Florida State’s Intro to Web Design class. I hope to get a lot out of this class, which I know I will. I believe the potential job opportunities presented to me by the majors I am graduating with (Finance and Management) can be very cohesive with the ones presented by possessing a strong know-how of the new frontier of communication and networking.
Previous Experience
As far as previous experience with Web design or Web development, I have very little to speak of. I have unfortunately not jumped onto the bandwagon of learning how to create and manipulate information over the Internet without a user-friendly program like Facebook to guide me. The extremely minimal experience that I do have with anything related to Internet development or design is the scarcity of information I learned in my high school Computers elective class where I learned a little about HTML programming, albeit not much.
